Mahatma Phule Museum
One of the best places for those interested in knowing how the Indian culture evolved, Mahatma Phule Museum never fails to surprise. The museum was initially the residence of the prominent social activist Jyotiba Phule and was converted into a museum in 1890 and named as Lord Ray Museum. It houses life-like models of prehistoric elephants, snakes, birds, and insects. Other sections contain exhibits, paintings, and models related to irrigation, handicrafts, science, power generation, refining, etc. The museum has a library of rare books on these subjects. The museum has also been publishing a science journal ‘Srushti Dnyan’, in which one can read articles by renowned scientists and researchers of the country.
