Did you know Aga Khan Palace was built 128 years ago which also served as a prison where Mahatma Gandhi & other eminent leaders were kept during the Quit India Movement.
(To note:- It's open from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. However, they stop selling entry tickets after 5 PM)
Aga Khan Palace known as the Gandhi National Memorial in Pune stands as a remarkable Islamic architecture & an iconic heritage in India's modern history. It was Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III, the All-India Muslim League’s first president, who built this grand palace in the year 1892 as a charity to employ the residents of Pune who were hit by Drought. The construction of the grand palace employed 1000 workers with a budget of 12 lakh spent on it.
So if you are a history lover, this place has the potential to keep you busy for a day.
