Conclusion of the Bird Week by with various events

Warje Malwadi, 13th: Birds are an important part of nature and the biodiversity of birds around the world is declining rapidly and many bird species are becoming rare. Bird Week is organized every year across the state to inform the citizens about the importance of birds in nature, endangered birds and their habitats, migration of birds, protection of their habitat and conservation laws. On this occasion, various programs were organized by the Forest Department from 5th to 12th November 2020.


November 5th is the birthday of Maruti Chitampally, a literary and retired forest officer who is a pioneer in the production of forest and wildlife literature in the state of Maharashtra, while world renowned ornithologist Padmabhushan (late) Dr. November 12 is Saleem Ali's birthday. Justifying these two days, the state government decided to celebrate Bird Week from November 5th to November 12th.

On the last day of this week, the Bird Week concluded with a program organized by the Pune Forest Department, Wildlife Department at the Conference Hall, Van Bhavan, Pune. The program was chaired by Ravi Wankhede, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Research, Education and Training, Forest Department. Regional Conservator of Forests Sujay Dodal, Conservator of Forests Satyajit Gujar, Conservator of Social Forestry Ranganath Naikade, Action Plan Conservator of Forests Nanasaheb Ladkat, Deputy Conservator of Wildlife S. Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Forest Conservator, Vitthal Suryavanshi, Divisional Forest Officer Sanjay Kadu, Divisional Forest Officer Publicity and Information, Forest Ramdas Pujari, Forest Range Officer of Bhamburda, Deepak Pawar, Forester and Bird Friend Deepak Shinde, Sunil Sawant, Other Officers - Staff and Bird Week Was attended.

On the occasion of Bird Week, essay competition and photo competition were organized by Pune Forest Department. The winners were honored with certificates. Kumari Gauri Rajaram Jadhav, the winner of the essay competition, won the hearts of all by reading her award winning essay.
On this occasion, Vitthal Suryavanshi, Ramesh Kumar, Naikade, Gujar, Dodal also participated in bird conservation.
Anushka expressed his thoughts. Dr. Naikade, an ornithologist. 10 volumes of Saleem Ali's book The Birds of India and Pakistan. Gujar said that Pune district is rich in bird diversity. Explaining the role of Dodal in celebrating Bird Week, Bird Week begins in Solapur
Celebrating the birthday of great literary and retired forest officer Maruti Chitampally from here on 5th November
He said that a separate book museum was set up at Solapur in his name. Wankhede, president of the program, said that birds are an indicator of good condition of forests. The program was introduced by Deepak Pawar, Forest Ranger, Bhamburda and the vote of thanks was given by Forest Ranger Ganesh Sarode.
