Excavation on the hill was stopped by civilians
Kothrud: Locals have stopped work on the hill slope on Vetal Tekdi in Kothrud by MIT, protesting against soil dumping. Municipal officials have issued a notice to MIT, noting the agitation started by the citizens.
Anirudh Khandekar said, "Excavation, tree felling and unpaved road construction work is underway on both the hills at the back of Shriram Heights, Vaidehi and Sufal Society. In this regard, the residents of the above three societies and Alankapuri, Kismat Society had given a statement to the Tree Authority as well as the Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation. Despite repeated complaints and being ignored, we took on the role of mass agitators. Municipal officials have issued a notice to MIT. But we are not satisfied with that. We demand strict action. In this regard, MIT tried to contact the officials of the organization but could not be contacted.
Diva Pratishthan We had lodged a complaint in this regard with the Municipal Corporation officials and Talathi office. But no action was taken under Corona's name. In the area of Sutardara, Kishkindhanagar also, the elasticity of the hill is in full swing. If people are sending notices after agitation, then there is a question about the efficiency and loyalty of the officers.
