Instagram has become a platform for a lot of small scale and big scale businesses as well. Here are a few options where you can surf and buy things online.
Farrago is a blooming online business which operates completely through the mode of Instagram.
Farrago was established in 2016 by Rucha Padhye.
“I have been a crafty person since I was young. I used to make paper quelling jewellery and put up stalls in college fests. I got a tremendous response and that inspired me to start my line. I borrowed 300 rupees from my father for the raw material and that was the start of Farrago.
( I returned the money to him too)”
Initially, Farrago launched a line of oxidised jewellery and another one for handmade art.
“There is no specific product I stick to. I usually try to come up with things that are artistic and trendy” says Rucha.
Recently, Farrago came up with a clothing line that includes dress materials, sarees, dupattas along with Kurtis and other clothing items.
Rucha says, “I realised that in the flow of westernisation, we have forgotten the beauty of our culture. I realised the significance of our roots and culture was lost somewhere. I wanted to do something to bring it to the limelight which is why I started a clothing line that includes handlooms, block-printed materials, even khan and Irkal clothes are on its way.”
Rucha hopes to have her website one day and launch an app.
For her, Instagram is the medium where you can check out the latest collections and place your orders.
