Younsters of Pune quench the thirst of Chandar's locals by supplying water to their courtyard.
The youth of Pune have recently completed the task of quenching the thirst of the destitute old people by supplying drinking water directly to the courtyard of the village 'Take Vasti' in the remote Chander village of Velhe taluka. Apart from organizing health camps in the village, food grains and water pots were also distributed to the villagers.
The event was organized on the initiation of Nandkumar Jadhav Mitra Parivar to help the villagers in remote areas. Since the arrival of electricity in Chander village, facilities are becoming available rapidly. The work of water tank and pipeline had already been done at Takevasti in this village through public participation. However, there was no electric pump to supply water to the tank. Dr. Sahakarnagar Lions Club. Prasad Khandagale provided the power pump at his own cost. The pump was installed on a public well and water was delivered to the tank. The women in the village would have to work less now due to water in their immediate yard.
Aniket Kondhalkar presented steel pots to the women on the occasion of their birthday to carry the available water to their homes. Dr. Kiran Hinge conducted health camps for about a hundred people at her own cost and provided free medicines. Also, Gulab Nivangune and Akshay Aher distributed food grains on behalf of Omkar Mitra Mandal on Tilak Road. Ravindra Pathare, Prasad Chikane, Suresh Mandale, Amol Kute, Kiran Rahurkar contributed to the success of this program. +
