On the occasion of Vasubaras, with the excitement of Gopujan, Diwali begins in the traditional way in Baner

Balewadi, 12th: Vasubaras was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Baner-Balewadi area. Deepavali festival was started with enthusiasm by performing pujan in the traditional way. Greetings were also sent to each other on social media on the occasion of Vasubaras. Diwali is very important in Hindu culture. Diwali is a festival of joy, excitement and bright lights. The beginning of such a festival is Vasubaras. This first day was celebrated with Go (Cow) Pujana. Cow has a unique significance in the Hindu culture. In the past, everything related to cows was used for  farming. Therefore, cows are considered to be our deity. The cow and her calf are worshiped on the day of Vasubarse.
Every year cows and calves are brought to the Vitthal Rukmini temple at Balewadi and worshipped. But, as all the temples are closed on the backdrop of the corona, a Gopujan program was organized on the occasion of Vasubaras at the Vitthal Mala of Gosevak Sanjay Balwadkar in this area. Kirtan was also organized here. There are forty five cows of Balwadkar in Vitthal Mala. Many people from this area come here to worship cows.
Many congregations in Baner Balewadi have cows. Those who have cows were washed and worshipped in the cowshed on the occasion of Vasubaras. For the last several years, the event has been celebrated by the villagers at Balewadi with great enthusiasm. This year, however, the event was held without crowds, observing social distance.
Earlier, a procession of cows was held on the day of Vasubaras, but now the nature of the event has changed a little. Without the procession of the cows, they are worshiped every year in the Vitthal Rukmini temple. Kirtankars Kailas Khandagale, Vikram Kale, Eknath Koshti, Prasad Jadhav, Sukhlal Buchade, Narayan Khillari, Bharat Wagh, Ram Maharaj Paithankar, corporator Amol Balwadkar, Gosevak Sanjay Balwadkar, Hanumant Gaikwad and Ravi Ghate were present on the occasion.
After the Pooja, the congregation enjoyed the kirtan, after which Mahaprasada was organized.
Congregations that do not have cows at home celebrated today's Vasubaras festival by worshipping the image of a cow and an offering of sweets.
