
Laadu-Chiwda at a fair price, initiative begins on Monday
Market Yard, Tal. 6: In order to make Diwali sweet for the poor in the city and its environs, The Poona Merchants Chamber has been running 'Laadu-Chivda Sale at Fair Prices' for the last 40 years from Monday (Thu. 9), informed The President of The Poona Merchants Chamber, Popatlal Ostwal. Vice President Ashok Lodha, Secretary Vijay Mutha, Joint Secretary Anil Lunkad, Former President Pravin Chorbele, Rajendra Bathia and Raikumar Nahar were present at the press conference.
The event will be inaugurated by Satish Soni, Marketing Director, Yash Lawns, Bibwewadi on Monday (9th) at 4.00 pm. Marketing Board Executive Director Sunil Pawar will be the chief guest. Compared to last year, the prices of some items required for Laddu Chiwda have gone up this year. Therefore, the price of laddu has been kept at Rs 130 per kg and chiwda at Rs 130 per kg this year. Ostwal said that Bundi Laddu and Chivda are being sold at less than half of the market price on the principle of "no profit no loss" out of a sense of social commitment to make Diwali sweet for the poor in the city and the surrounding areas.
